Personal Experiences

Several pupils have been kind enough to write about their personal experiences.

David Dutton from East London writes:
As a teenager I developed mild kypho-lordosis whereby the upper part of the spine curves giving the appearance of a slight hunch or rounded shoulders. A friend recommended the Alexander Technique, I read up on the theory and had my first lesson with Michelle in 1999 and I have been having lessons ever since. Read more

I first went to see Michelle about four years ago. I was initially interested in finding out if Alexander Technique could help with my recurrent back pain, but at about the same time as I started the lessons I discovered I was pregnant. It made such a massive improvement to my swimming technique that I decided to try AT lessons too. Read more

I soon learned that there are no easy answers to questions about the Technique. It is something you just have to experience. Read more
